Collegejourn is calling all journalism students.

Oh, and you’re writing on a deadline. 11:59pm PST Monday, February 16th.

Collegejourn, a site devoted to innovation through weekly chats with people in all walks of journalism, has noticed a theme in their discussions: students find that their journalism professors lack forward thinking.

We’re here to change that.

Our tagline is: Professors: Catch Up! Or We’re All Left Behind

We want students to write blog posts about the changes and risks they want to see their journalism professors, course curriculum, school newspapers and etc to take, starting now.

Unsure of where to start? Here are a few questions to think about when writing this post:

• What specific skill sets or tools do you want to learn?
• How could your journalism school, or curriculum, be improved?
• What is going on right at your school (or other schools)?
• How can journalism be enhanced with new media tools?
• How can skills in business aid journalism students and the industry?
• Do you feel that your current curriculum prepares you for the future of journalism? Why?
• What collaborative risks can both you, the student, and your journalism professor take together?
